It’s our honor to be a part of LuangPu Buaket Pathumasiro’s unique conservation project that preserves forestry and traditional temple arts.
Around the year 2000, LuangPu Buaket Pathumasiro was the Chairman from the sangha at Maepang Temple in Mae Hong Son, located around the national forest reservation area. He had a vision to preserve the traditional art&crafts of gilding and lacquering on doors and windows for the newly built chapel of this temple while avoiding the use of material that damaged natural resources or had short life cycle. He then assigned his followers to find solutions, and make sure it could maintain the identity and beauty of the traditional arts&craft.
Since stainless steel is more durable and cheaper as compared to wood, preserving both areas can be done together easily, and considered as a sustainable solution.
Over the past 20 years, the concept has been adapted in many temples, proudly presenting by his followers with the assistance from our factory Siam Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. to retain resources and promote traditional art in the Northern area of Thailand.
